Minding Your Thoughts
A Biblical Overview of Obtaining and Maintaining a Biblical Thought Life
Matthew 9:4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
There is much discussion these days about electronic surveillance of an individual’s web history. The internet is a public domain in which all data that is placed on servers can be accessed by numerous people. Whether this access is by legal entities or illegal hackers, all information on the web can be obtained and tracked. Marketing organizations compile the internet habits of countless millions of people to sell to retail outlets. Sometimes employers scan the web data about their employees. The internet is like the Wild, Wild West; it is very dangerous and filled with gunslingers that are armed with superior knowledge and much faster than the average web user. If you desire privacy, stay off the internet.
This may seem like a relatively new phenomenon, but from the dawn of civilization God has known, kept track of, monitored, and recorded man’s thoughts, deeds, and words (Matthew 12:36) Of this we have spoken several times during these devotions. In the above verse it is very clear that Jesus knew the thoughts of the scribes, and He knew they were evil. The evil resided in their hearts and their minds feasted on this evil.
The Lord’s question to the scribes was, …Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? He knew what they were thinking! He knows our thoughts too.
May the Lord bless and be pleased with your thought life today.
