A Biblical Overview of Obtaining and Maintaining a Biblical Thought Life

Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

According to Isaiah, God can measure the waters of the earth in the hollow of His hand, He set the boundaries of Heaven, He knows the measure of the dust on the earth, He weighs the mountains on a scale, and He can measure the hills in a balance (Isaiah 40:12). God knows every language of every person, He knows their every thought, He knows not only what they have done, but that which they are planning on doing. The Lord God can solve every math problem, for He established the laws of mathematics. God understands the unseen angelic world, He hears every prayer of every person in the world in real time, He toys with the creatures of the deep, and His eyes are everywhere at all times beholding both the evil and the good.

Someone once said, “Has it ever occurred to you that nothing has ever occurred to God?”  He cannot sin, He cannot lie, He cannot violate His Word, and He cannot fail. He is God, and His thoughts are higher than the thoughts of mankind. If mankind could combine all of our human intellect together, if all the brain power in the world could be harnessed and merged into one great mind, the total knowledge would pale in comparison to the brain power of the Lord God.

In each person’s life they have a choice of whom to believe: oneself, others, or God. Wise men have always chosen God. Given the option of believing man or God, I’ll choose God every time. About this, do not be misled, each and every day we choose to believe God or what others say and teach about God. Why put our belief system into the hand of mere men when that trust could and should be placed in God? This is a mystery for the ages, is it not?
