Minding Your Thoughts
A Biblical Overview of Obtaining and Maintaining a Biblical Thought Life
Psalm 64:6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
This Psalm has two divisions. In the first six verses King David laments the awful treatment that enemies heap upon their prey. In the last four verses David gives a wonderful prophecy of God’s defense of those that are His. Within this morning’s verse David relates that the inward thoughts and hearts of those enemies are deep. There is no doubt that every person, friend or foe, has deep inward thoughts of heart.
When it comes to enemies, Jesus Christ has the best advice ever given mankind. If this advice were followed many skirmishes, altercations, and divisions could be eliminated. This advice is found in His sermon on the mount, He said: Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. (Matthew 5:25) Perhaps this is God’s divine remedy to affect the enemy’s deep thoughts and heart in a positive manner which may lead to a peaceable outcome or a mended relationship. Just try it and see.
May the Lord bless and be pleased with your thought life today.
