A Biblical Overview of Obtaining and Maintaining a Biblical Thought Life

Jeremiah 18:8  If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

God changes His mind, so can you! I heard a story once about a pilot of a private airplane that was flying from Houston, Texas to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The weather was bad, and visibility was very low so he climbed up through the clouds to get above the storms. Therefore, he had to depend on his gauges for navigation. When he thought that he was close to his destination he descended through the clouds to prepare for landing. However, instead of being over the metropolitan area of Oklahoma City he was over farmland. Upon studying his map and comparing it to landmarks on the ground, he determined that he was more than one hundred miles off course. He was too far west. How did this happen? For some reason the compass on the airplane was off by just a few degrees. Those few degrees multiplied by the miles he flew caused him to miss his mark.

The pilot had to make a course correction to get back on the proper path so that he could reach his destination safely. Many times our Father in Heaven changes His course of action to fit the changed status of man. As we respond to Him, He responds to us. Think about Nineveh, He planned to destroy that nation, but through the preaching of Jonah the nation repented and turned to God. Because they changed their mind and humbly came to God, God changed His mind and spared them immediate destruction. I say again; God changes His mind, so can you!
