Rēad to Read …Again
Daily Reading: Ezekiel 46-48
Ezekiel 47:1
Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar.
The life-giving stream of water. Joel saw this stream, Joel 3:18. Zechariah saw this stream, Zechariah 14:8. It could be that the “river of the water of life” described in Revelation 22:1 which proceeds from the throne of God and the Lamb is this same flow of water. This water must picture the Word of God. Just as God’s Word flows from the throne room of heaven to all the world in like manner Proverbs 25:25, As cold waters to a thirsty soul; so is good news from a far country.
Just as the average human being cannot fully comprehend all that literal water does for their body, so too do few completely understand how the water of the Word benefits their lives. Nor does the world with all its intellect, advancements, programs, and sophistication realize the blessings of God’s Word in this world.
Volumes could be written here, but suffice it to say that God’s Word provides the world and those that live on it more than physical water. The benefits of physical water, while required for natural life, end at the end of this life. But the water of the Word of God has benefits that last far beyond this life, even unto all eternity.
To wrap this thought up in one startling and grand finale consider Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. This is Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, the Lamb of God, the Word of God. He flows to the world providing great and wonderful benefits to both the just and the unjust alike.
