Daily Reading: Ezekiel 46-48
It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.
The Lord is there. The new name for the new Jerusalem. What a way to end a book! The promise that there will be a time that the Lord will be there in such a sense that the city will be called…The Lord is there.
John saw this city. Yes, he did, in Revelation 21:2-3! And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And you will see this city! You may now live in Fort Worth, Chicago, San Diego, or New York City. But if you are a child of God, you will one day live in the city that is called The Lord is there.
By the way, it is not named so just to have a name. It’s called that because The Lord is there. I can hardly wait! It’s like looking forward to a long-scheduled vacation to a wonderful resort or cruise. Can’t wait, but wait we must! In our waiting though we can see it by faith. Praise the Lord! It was worth reading all 48 chapters of Ezekiel just to get to this verse. Aren’t you glad you stuck with it? If so, let me know.
Until tomorrow, live for Christ today.
