Daily Reading: I Chronicles 22-24

I Chronicles 22:5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

It occurs to me that if the Old Testament house, or temple, of God was to be exceeding magnifical, shouldn't the New Testament temple of God be also? Exceeding magnifical that is. Imagine, the place where God dwells being exceeding magnifical. In case you have never been told, let me tell you, if you are a child of God, you are the temple of God, the Holy Spirit. He dwells in you. I Corinthians 6:19 proves it: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Therefore, if we are to be like the temple of the Old Testament wherein it was physical; but today ours is spiritual, shouldn't our temple also be exceeding magnifical?

Magnifical is a word that is only used once in Scripture. A person would think that such a wonderfully descriptive word would be used more times than that. Anyway, being exceeding magnifical is a goal, or should be, for each and every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Is it yours?

If it is, pay attention to verse 30 of the next chapter. It tells us this: I Chronicles 23:30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even; Perhaps the first and continual step toward being exceeding magnifical is to praise the Lord morning, evening, and all day long.

Until tomorrow, aim for exceeding magnifical today. After all, His temple must be...
