The Bible Edge

Everyone needs an Edge, Believers can have the Bible Edge

Matthew 28:18

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Human’s search for power is unquenchable and no amount of power is enough power. This being said, no one would dare claim to have “all power” as much as they may want it. But Jesus did, and He does. He has all power. It has been given to Him of His Father, the Lord God Almighty. Throughout the Lord’s earthly existence, He proved His power over and over and over again.

He has power to forgive sins, power to calm the seas, power to cleanse the lepers, power to heal the lame, halt, maimed, blind and deaf, power to feed five thousand with five loaves and two fishes, power to turn water into wine, power to lay down his life and pick it up again, and the power to raise the dead back to life!

When the Lord sent out his twelve disciples He gave them power, supernatural power (Matthew 10:1). He evidently gave the seventy power that He sent out in Luke 10:1-16. In John 1:12 we are taught that Jesus gives individuals power to become sons of God speaking of those who believe on his name. Not only does the Lord have all power, but He also gives power to others for various reasons and purposes. He shares His power.

The Apostle Paul received power from the Lord. Having such power some would misuse it, but this Apostle taught us by example not to abuse our power in the Gospel. In Acts 1:8 every believer is promised power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you; which happens upon salvation. In Revelation 19:1, the heavenly choir is recorded as singing of this power: And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

Make no doubt the Lord has all power but it is power under control, which by the way is the simple definition of meekness; power under control. One day, perhaps soon, the Lord will demonstrate His power to the World like it was demonstrated to Egypt during the time of the ten plagues. Until then, fret not, worry not, fear not, for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has all power. That is an unconditional promise of God’s Word. It’s also an edge for life, a Bible Edge that must be recalled often. He has all power and has, or will, extend His power to you as needed for His cause and your betterment.
