Minding Your Thoughts
A Biblical Overview of Obtaining and Maintaining a Biblical Thought Life
Amos 4:13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
Think about it! God in Heaven declares unto man His thoughts. What a privilege to know the thoughts of God. Awesome! No wonder that in the book of Romans it is stated: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20). Man will stand before God without excuse because somehow God has communicated His thoughts to man.
Sometimes our thoughts lead us to find answers to things that God has chosen to keep secret. There are things we don’t know, and may never know, but all that we do need to know God has communicated to us. In fact, this truth is even more evident when we consider that one of the names of God is The Word (John 1:1). Through His Word He has divulged all that we need to know about this world and the next. Again, we don’t know everything, but we know (or can know) enough.
The next time you are faced with uncertainty ask God to give you His thought on the matter, for He desires to do so for all mankind. In fact, I would say that He wants you to know His thoughts more than you want to know His thoughts.
May the Lord bless and be pleased with your thought life today.
