The Bible Edge

Everyone needs an Edge, Believers can have the Bible Edge

II Timothy 2:19

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

An unconditional promise found in this verse is: The Lord knoweth them that are his. Such comfort these words can bring to one of His children. He knows us. He not only knows that we are one of His, He knows us. He knows what we need, He knows where we come from, our challenges, failures, future, and everything in between. He knows us.

One of the great aspects of the Lord that many overlook is this: He treats each one of His people differently. Sometimes we see how the Lord blesses, or even chastises another and wonder, “Why doesn’t He do that for/to me?” The basic, simple reason is, He knows you. He knows what you can handle, He knows if you can be trusted with abundance or if it will ruin you, He knows if you are at the point of needing chastisement so that you go no further into behavior/s that may hurt you. He knows you.

He knows your hurts, your dreams, your problems, your questions, your doubt, your fears, your successes, He knows it all. Everything about you He knows. He knows how many hairs are on your head (Luke 12:7). He knows that we are only dust giving allowance for such (Psalm 103:14). He knows the secrets of our hearts (Psalm 44:21). He knows you and He knows what you need and what you do not need, what you can handle and what you cannot handle, what will bless you and what will hurt you. No matter what comes into your life, He already knows all about it and will be with you in every situation of the human condition.

This is not only a New Testament truth; Nahum 1:7 states: The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. He knew Abraham saying: For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Genesis 18:19 Job indicated that the Lord numbered his steps (Job 14:16). On and on we could go. Suffice it to say The Lord knoweth them that are his.

Not only does He know us, but He also walks with us, talks with us, comforts us, leads us, heals us, and will never leave us nor forsake us. That truth alone, dear reader, gives us an edge in life. A Bible Edge.
