Daily Reading: Deuteronomy 30-31
And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,
Yesterday the word "if" was highlighted. So what is a person to do if they chose the wrong side of "if"? One of today's chapters, chapter 30 gives the answer: Deuteronomy 30:2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
Return to the Lord. It is the Lord God that you have turned from when you turn from obedience to His Word. Like a parent who teaches their children to not lie. When they lie, they have turned from their parents. To make things right, they return to the teaching of their parents when they cease to lie. Meaning they turn from lying to telling the truth. Yes, we are speaking about repentance here although that word is not found in Chapter 30, its teaching is.
From time to time, to one extent or another, either for a short while or a long time we all choose the wrong side of "if". When you have, and you realize it, simply return. To whom shall you return? To the Lord God. How? Obey His voice (His Word) with all your heart and soul. Of which know this... if a person comes to the Lord God with all their heart and soul, this means there is no room for anything or anyone else. He is the centerpiece of their heart and soul. Others may share a place in their heart, but only within His permissive will to allow them there. But this dear reader is a topic best saved for another day.
In short, if you are on the wrong side of "if", return to Him through obedience with all your heart and soul.
Until tomorrow, live for Christ today.
