Daily Reading: Joshua 19-21

Joshua 21:45

There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

To really understand the full import of the above verse also read the two verses just before it: And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. In other words, everything God said He would do for Israel He did.

He promised to give their fathers all the Promise Land, and He did. He promised to give them rest in the land, and He did. He promised to deliver them from their enemies, and He did. Of this the Bible is clear: There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass. He has also made some promises to you, all of which He will fulfill.

Promises like: Romans 10:13

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Luke 11:9

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

So many promises. All will be kept. Every last one. He may not fulfill His promises the way we think, or how we think, or according to our timetable, but He will fulfill them. As Peter wrote: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (II Peter 3:9) Yes sir, a thousand times yes, the Lord will keep His promises. He did for Israel, even with all their shortcomings, likewise, He will with you too!

Until tomorrow, live for Christ today.
