The Bible Edge
Everyone needs an Edge, Believers can have a Bible Edge
Revelation 1:9
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
John was devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ from the time he left his fishing nets, and as far as we know in Scripture, until the day he died. He loved his Lord, served Him, and was faithful to Him. Not just for a day, a month, or a year, but for life.
In the day and age in which so many are falling away from the Lord, let John’s lesson of a faithful life encourage you to remain solidly entrenched in His Word, service, will, and way of life.
When our Savior was hanging on the cross, dying for our sins according to the Biblical record, the only Apostle that was present was John. He stood faithfully while all the rest faded away. He was punished for his devotion by being banished to the island of Patmos. But while he was there, the Lord gave him that which we commonly call the book of Revelation. The final say in the Bible comes from the pen of a man who was faithful to Jesus for life. Devotion to the Lord may not be easy, for… all who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (II Timothy 3:12), but those who remain faithful will doubtless receive rewards in both this life and the next.
Now that is an edge, a Bible edge.
