Rēad to Read …Again

Daily Reading: Psalm 103-105

Psalm 105:45

That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.

The entirety of Psalm 105 is the fact that God remembers His people. It reviews His covenant that he made with Abraham and how it continued through Isaac and Jacob. A condensed overview of Joseph and Israel’s time in Egypt is given concluding with their victory in the promise land. This all happened because God remembered His holy promise to Abraham (verse 42). His promises continue today, even unto a thousand generations (verse 8).

Notice, evidently all this was performed to give Israel every chance to observe His statutes and keep his laws. They had no excuse not to, for the Lord did everything they needed for Him to do to accomplish those goals. He gave them His law through Moses, He gave them priests to teach them, He gave them prophets to speak for Him to them, He provided all their temporal needs and showed them His miracle working power. What more could they need?

The same is true today. The Lord God of Heaven has given this generation all that is needed to do the same. Just as He did all past generations and as He will for all future generations. He gives everything needed to worship and serve Him as He desires to be worshipped and served. He established the organization that we call a church. He has given to us His Word. He has given to every believer the Holy Ghost of God. He gives power to do His work. He answers prayers in a miraculous fashion that are asked in His name and according to His will. He calls out pastors, missionaries, evangelists and preachers of all sorts. These circle the globe with the good news of His gospel. We have more Bibles, communication options, printing capacities, media, and technological tools than any other generation. There is nothing else needed except the desire and willingness on the part of His children.

If we do not worship Him, serve Him, and obey Him as He desires, we have no excuse as to why. For everything needed has been, and will be, provided.

This central truth, the truth that He has provided all we need to do all He asks, is reason enough for His faithful children to say …. Praise ye the LORD.

Just tap into His provision and, as David said to Solomon …be strong and do it. (I Chronicles 28:10). After all, David gave to Solomon all he needed to build the temple, all he had to do was do it. That is a clear-cut Bible story about a clear-cut Bible reality.
