Daily Reading: Psalm 146-150

Psalm 150:6

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

If you are on schedule with the Read-to-Read Bible reading program you will finish the book of Psalms today. The very first devotion for this book was on the very first verse of the book; Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. It was fitting to start there. Likewise, it is fitting to end this devotional series for this book with the very last verse: Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

The word “praise”, and all of its derivatives, is used 176 times in the 150 chapters of Psalms. It’s a book about praise. The last verse sums up the book wonderfully. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Oh, that we truly would.

Until tomorrow, live for Christ today.
