The Bible Edge

Everyone needs an Edge, Believers can have the Bible Edge

Ecclesiastes 11:6

In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

“That won’t work!” You’ve heard them. The naysayers, the ne’er-do-wells, the “Can’t never could do nothing” crowd. They are everywhere. This is what they forget. According to the totality of God’s Word, we plant, He brings the increase. Sometimes He blesses this, sometimes He blesses that, at other times and in a different place He may bless something that may have been tried a hundred times without success. Don’t believe that? Consider this verse: Isaiah 51:3 For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

If God can cause a desert place to bloom like the garden of Eden, if He can provide comfort to those in the waste places, He can bless your efforts even if it doesn’t seem possible. For example, in the New Testament there were two men put into prison. Both were under lock and key, both guarded closely, both had uncertain futures. In one instance God sent an angel to wake up one man (Peter) telling him to get up, get your coat on, and follow me. The angel led Peter out of that prison, the gates even opening of their own accord. The other man, Paul, was in prison under the same conditions, suddenly there was an earthquake, their bands were loosed, and the doors were opened. In this situation Paul did not leave the prison as Peter did, no doubt Paul had heard the story of Peter’s miraculous delivery. Paul stayed in the prison and a great revival broke out from the conversion of the jailer. Two men, same situation, one did this, the other did that, God blessed both.

So, try everything. Have a problem, try this, try that, try the other thing, keep trying until God blesses. God can bless this, that, or the other thing, or the hundredth thing. Just keep sowing in the morning, in the evening, in the heat, in the cold, when it’s convenient, when it is not convenient. Try it all. Let the small thinkers, the energy challenged, the short timers only try once and then say, “It can’t be done.”

Thomas Edison invented the incandescent light bulb. Over two years he had 10,000 failures. When asked why he failed so many times, Mr. Edison said “I have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways it won’t work.”

What have you not tried? What have you not attempted because others said it wouldn’t work? Try again! Work as though it is all up to you, and pray as if it’s all up to God. After all, He is the one who can bring blooming flowers in a desert or in a garden like setting! As David said to his son Solomon, we close; Be strong and do it. (I Chron. 28:10) Just get it done, try until something works through God’s supernatural blessings.
