Daily Reading: Exodus 19-21

Exodus 20:1-2

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Who has not heard of the Ten Commandments? Few, no doubt. Today you will or have already read them. The overall teaching of these commandments, as well as all of God's commands, can be summed up in two simple words "Do Right."

Just do right. In every act of life, do right. In every relationship, do right. In every business transaction, do right. In every decision, job, task, thought, and deed, do right. Isn't it interesting though, as much as people want to be seen as being right, and will go as far as to argue the veracity of their rightness, seldom do they do right? Worse yet, is the unjust perception that others do not do right. Doing right is not right because it benefits a person, doing right is right because it is obedience to God's commandments. A person may say, "Do right by me" which means that they want another person to do that which they think is right. Whether it is right or not can only be determined based upon examination of the action in light of God's commands as found in His Word.

If the Ten Commandments teach us anything, they teach us to just do right.

Simple to say...Difficult to live.

Until tomorrow, live for Christ today.
