Minding Your Thoughts
A Biblical Overview of Obtaining and Maintaining a Biblical Thought Life
Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Christians are supposed to be docile people, pacifists, soft, never found to be fighting, warring, or struggling. This is so very contradictory from the truth. Christian people are always at war. It is just sometimes we forget just what war. The fight in which we are engaged is not toward one another, or even with those who have rejected Christ, our conflict, our battle, our fight, our struggle, our war is within ourselves.
The Apostle Paul describes this war perfectly in Romans 7. The war is between the law of sin in our flesh, and the law of God in our mind. This is a concept that needs little description, for all who are in Christ Jesus are well acquainted with this conflict. Some battle through and win. How? First of all, they never stray far from the truth of the next two verses in Romans. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. You have a great Warrior at your side, a Warrior that has never once lost a battle; that Warrior is your Savior, Jesus Christ. He can, and will, deliver you victorious. We will visit this this again tomorrow.
May the Lord Bless and be pleased with your thought life today.
