Daily Reading: Isaiah 23-27

Isaiah 26:19

Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Perhaps it is time for a short review. In Isaiah chapters 13-23 God’s judgment against 10 foreign nations is pronounced because of their ill treatment of God’s people and on His people because they trusted in those foreign nations rather than depending on Him. These pronouncements of judgment against the nations have both primary and secondary fulfillments. The primary fulfillments were accomplished during the ensuing years following their pronouncement. These are in the past. Their secondary fulfillments will take place during “The day of the Lord”. This is in the future.

In Isaiah 26:19 through 27:13 Isaiah lays out God’s plan for the second coming of Christ, which is yet to take place.

In today’s verse (26:19) the resurrection and the rapture are forecast.

In 26:20 we read of the Great Tribulation

In 26:21 the Revelation of Christ and the battle of Armageddon

In 27:1 the Binding of Satan

In 27:2-13 the Millennial reign of Christ

Dear child of God, as Luke wrote in Luke 21:28 this devotion is ended.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Until tomorrow, live for Christ today.
